Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder Review

by daisyjunkee

Today I will review the new Kat Von D setting powder. This powder is described as “a lightweight translucent loose powder formulated with Micro-Blurring Technology™, which can be set and perfected to create a flawless, lock-in makeup look. .” The product fits the description very well.

This bulk powder comes in a plastic jar with a black cap with the KVD logo. Although the jar looks heavy, it is actually a lightweight plastic. The sieve of the jar is arranged in the shape of stars, inspired by Kat’s iconic star tattoo. I think it’s cool because it shows her attention to detail.

Kat Von D’s innovative formula uses refined mica powder instead of the heavy, chalky binding ingredients found in other powders—a 30% weight reduction. This prevents the dry, chalky surface that most powders leave behind, but instead provides a perfectly smooth, seamless appearance with the same number of uses.

I like the soft and smooth feel of the powder on the skin, but the application did not surprise me. The surface treatment is not very matte, I think the powder is too thin to really smooth out pores and fine lines.

Many times, I like to use powder on the concealer, so it definitely needs cushioning. However, this one did not provide the super smooth or even finish I wanted. Having said that, if you are used to using full face foundation, then this powder should provide good enough results.

I like the weightlessness of this powder. I strongly recommend that you try this product. You will not be disappointed!
